Betsy's PagesWork Fun

Our new daughter, Erin Frances Delaney, was born by Cesarean Section after 36 hours of labor. Erin weighed 7 lbs, 13 oz. and was 20 and 1/4 inches long at birth. Below are some shots taken in the first 24 hours of Erin's life. We'll update the page more when the excitement dies down. Some details of the pregnancy can be found on the old page.
This is a picture of Dan and Erin taken just after the birth. The operation went without a hitch but it took several hours before Betsy was fully recovered from the anesthesia.
While mommy rested, the new daddy escorted Erin to the nursery so they could perform needed tests and measurements. Here is Erin getting her official weigh-in. The weight on the scale, 7 pounds, 13.3 ounces, means she'll be fighting in the ultra featherweight class for the forseeable future.
The day after saw Betsy well enough to start breast feeding Erin. For all the talk about "natural feeding," it takes a lot of time and effort to feed effectively.
While Betsy spent the days recovering and learning the ins and outs of her new baby, Dan went out to run several errands (including this webpage). Here is a shot of father and child before he braves the outside. ![]() The three of us left the hospital on the day Betsy was originally due. The outfit (in part) was a gift from Betsy's parents - the temperature was a little too cold for the dress that went with the coat and hat. Since then, Erin has had a bunch of visitors, and a ton of gifts from both friends and family. We are working as fast as we can on thank you notes, but with one hand free (and sometimes not even that) the process is slower than we'd like! If you're not sure whether your gift was received or not, please call us! More when we have another moment free... Visit Erin's Archives |
