Operation Southern Watch - April and May 1997 Here is a picture of me in my DCU's (Desert Camoflage Uniform) in from of the containerized shelter that was the maintenance facility for Seeb AB, Oman. We didn't wear uniforms often. Most of our time, off or on duty, was spent in civilian clothing. Though this picture seems washed out, it is fairly accurate. It's just that everything (including us!) was sand-colored.
While traveling off the beaten path to see an oasis in the interior of the country, we came upon this sight. The perspective is correct - the rock was larger than the Land Rover.
This is a picture of me at a wadi, (a usually dry riverbed). This was an oasis; the stream behind me was formed by water that came from the irrigation system which was on either side of the dry riverbed.
